Better Days are Coming: Peace Series Part 4

IMG_0627Peace is mentioned 429 times in the bible so it is obvious that God wants us to have peace. In this fourth and final part of the Peace series, my encouragement to you is that things will get better.

We have all experience mixed emotions about this pandemic. In some way, shape or form, this pandemic has affected us, directly or indirectly. A lot of people have been sick with the virus or have lost loved ones to the virus. Some people have lost their jobs. Many have been unable to graduate this year as scheduled. Others are transitioning to online classes.

For me, I was not exposed to the virus but the virus did have an impact on my future. I am currently completing my last year of my legal studies and I was scheduled to graduate in July. My entire family was excited to come and support but things have greatly changed as a result of this pandemic. For most students a part of the graduating class of 2020, there will be no graduation ceremonies. In my situation, some of my exams have been postponed until August and as a result, I won’t be able to complete my course in July, having an effect on when I will be able to qualify as an attorney. However, I am reminded that everything happens for a reason and no matter how things look right now, God’s plans for me are to prosper me and not to harm me, to give me hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11.

In Part 1 of this series, we were reminded of encouraging verses that can give us peace in this time:

“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” -Isaiah 26:3

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” –John 16:33

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”– Philippians 4:7

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.” John 14:27

In Part 2, we looked deeper at how God is our refuge and strength.

Psalm 46:1-2 states “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear…”

In Part 3, we were reminded that we are to adjust our focus from worrying about all that’s going on around us to focusing on how good God is and worshipping Him.

Today, let us rest in God’s promises that better days are coming.

Romans 8:28 states that “The sufferings of this present day cannot compare to the glory that will be revealed in you.”

Psalms 30:5 states, “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”

I am comforted by the fact that this pandemic means that we are one step closer to meeting our Father in heaven as the signs of the times unfold before our very eyes. As we go throughout our lives, we notice that prophecy is being fulfilled and Jesus is closer to coming back for His people than He was before. When Jesus returns,

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Be comforted by the fact that things will get better!

This blog was created during my first term of Law School. This journey has truly been a roller coaster ride and I want you guys to come on this journey with me as I go through the ups and downs of surviving as a young adult and I hope you're inspired by some of the lessons I've learnt along the way.
