Today, my church finally opened for the first time since March. Many people were disappointed that church had been closed for so long so there was quite a number of people present at church today, socially distancing of course!

It was a great service and I was blessed. But how many of us use church as a crutch to our relationship with God? We wait until we go to church to open our bibles and truly praise the Lord.
Most of us know Proverb 3:6. As proudly as we recite that text, do we actually live it?
“
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
-Proverbs 3:6
The importance of acknowledging God is so that He can direct our paths. As children, our parents guide us and ensure that we go down the right path. God is our Heavenly Father so how much more does He want to ensure that we live a full life. In order for Him to guide us, we need to let Him in.
Can I be honest for a minute?
I do not acknowledge God in all my ways. As much as I would love to lie and say that my relationship with God is great and that’s why I wrote this REALationship with God series, I can’t. My relationship with God is a growing one and I’ll always say it could be better. I started this blog series to inspire you and me to dig deeper and be more intentional with growing our relationship with God.
I would describe myself as an impulsive person, not the impulsive person that just randomly starts fights and is hot headed but the impulsive person that gets an idea and just makes it happen without much thought. A better word to describe me is…spontaneous. Yea that sounds more positive than impulsive. Well, over the years, as I’ve grown in my faith, I’ve tried to work on seeking God before making the next move. Many ideas come to my mind but every idea that I have may not be for me to execute.
“
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
-Proverbs 19:21
In acknowledging God in all our ways, that means acknowledging Him each day. This starts with having devotions and asking Him to guide our steps. There’s one quote that one of my friends mentioned in one of our youth meetings that stuck with me and ever since, I’ve been trying to recite it each day.
“
Take me O Lord as wholly thine, I lay all my plans at thy feet. Use me today in thy service. Abide with Me and let all my work be wrought in Thee.
