The Journey Continues…

If you’ve been keeping up with my blogs, you would be anticipating the final phase of my previous blog,Transmutation. If you haven’t read it as yet, give it a read!

While many of us are still going through Transmutation, it is possible that we may actually be able to see some bright colours slowly revealing itself from our cocoon. A butterfly is known for flying in the air showing off its grandiose colours. People look in amazement at the gorgeous colours that kiss the butterfly’s wings. The butterfly has officially hatched out of its cocoon and can finally spread its wings and fly. The butterfly’s growing is still not done yet though, the butterfly must now thrive in its new form.

As humans, it is important for us to realize that we must never stop growing. Every day we’re evolving more into ourselves and who God wants us to be. With each passing day comes a new challenge and a new opportunity. We may achieve certain goals and accomplish certain tasks but that does not mean that we have made it. When one goal is achieved, we should strive to make more goals and achieve them as well. It is also important that everything that we do, we do it to the best of our ability.
I am closer to my goal than I was yesterday but what does that mean I should be doing today?

1. Continue striving to master your craft: Never stop learning. The world is constantly changing and it is important for us to be able to adapt our crart and change with it. For example, Artificial Intelligence is taking the world by storm. Instead of fearing it as an up and coming lawyer, it is imperative for me to learn to embrace AI and look at it as an opportunity rather than a threat. We should strive daily to figure out how we can improve our craft and how our gifts can truly be impactful to today’s audience. Watching Ted Talks, inspirational podcasts and attending conferences can help with this. Also, we must be willing to step out of our comfort zone and reach out to people in our particular fields and seek advice or maybe even ask if they would like to mentor you! Just recently, I started utilizing my LinkedIn and reaching out to people in my chosen career to gain advice about my next steps. I have also reached out to other bloggers for advice on how I can improve my blog. Most importantly, we must actually put in the work. All of the things I just mentioned are useless if we do not actually dedicate the time to improving our craft.  Many of us are afraid to think outside of the box but imagine how much amazing things lie ahead once we start to spread our wings and fly.

We must be willing to stay up late and wake up early because after all, we can only get out what we put in.

2. Tell your story: Many people say that our journey is not for us but it is to bless someone else. You may be surprised at how many people can relate to what you have been through and can be motivated from your story. Your story is not just for you but it is for others to learn from you.

Don’t be afraid to share the pitfalls just as you would share the triumphs.

Even though we may think that we’re not quite where we want to be yet, we still have a story to tell. I know that I haven’t made it yet but I choose to write blogs to talk about my journey of adulthood and inspire others along the way.story

3. Mentor: It is important for us to realize that there are people coming up behind us who are striving to accomplish what we have accomplished. It is our duty to inspire the next generation and encourage them in achieving their goals. By mentoring a younger person, we not only bless their lives but we bless our own lives in return. There is nothing like pouring into someone. This can turn out to be the most rewarding thing you’ve ever done!

munroe quote

Every day we are one step closer to fulfilling our dreams but we must realize that the journey continues! Transmutation is an ongoing process so each day we must strive to be better than the person we were the day before but while you go through this process, remember that your story is not for you but for someone else and it should be your goal to die empty!

Spread your wings and show the world your beautiful colours!

This blog was created during my first term of Law School. This journey has truly been a roller coaster ride and I want you guys to come on this journey with me as I go through the ups and downs of surviving as a young adult and I hope you're inspired by some of the lessons I've learnt along the way.
